Following the successful completion of the world's first transnational 5G remote surgery verification, spanning over 7,000 kilometers in less than a week, the Toumai™ endoscopic surgical robot has once again successfully conducted 5G tele-surgery verification across the Atlantic and long-distance animal experiments across the Pacific. With this achievement, the Toumai™ robot has completed the world's first "world-tour" robotic tele-surgery operation verification, ushering in a new era of robotic surgery.

On February 3-4, at the inaugural SRS Telesurgery Consensus Conference held in Orlando, USA, Professor Vipul Patel, founder and chairman of the Global Robotic Surgery Association (SRS), and his team from the Global Robotic Institute at the University of Florida, successfully performed the world's first intercontinental 5G tele-surgery operation verification from Orlando to Dubai (spanning over 12,400 kilometers across the Atlantic). Additionally, with the assistance of Dr. Moschovas and Dr. Breda, the Toumai™ robot conducted the world's first intercontinental 5G remote animal experiment from Orlando to Shanghai (performing a right kidney ureteral excision across the Pacific, spanning nearly 13,000 kilometers), together with the MedBot™ Shanghai team operating the robot in Dubai, creating the world's first "global" remote robotic surgery operation verification. This milestone signifies that the Chinese-developed Toumai™ robot, supported by 5G technology, has taken the lead in completing the preliminary stage of remote surgical testing across continents and oceans. It can assist medical experts in performing precise minimally invasive surgical procedures, laying a solid technical foundation for simultaneous transnational and transcontinental 5G human tele-surgeries, and fully demonstrating the Toumai™ robot's powerful technical capabilities and leadership position in the field of tele-surgery.

At the conference, Dr. Chao He, President of MicroPort® MedBot™, was invited to deliver a speech, sharing the exploration experience of tele-surgery and highlighting the new concepts, technologies, methods, and progress achieved by MicroPort® MedBot™ in the field of tele-surgery. His presentation received extensive attention and praise from attendees from various countries.

Dr. Chao He stated that the successful completion of the world's first "global-tour" robotic tele-surgery operation verification represents a further leap in tele-surgical technology and plays an important role in the development and promotion of global tele-surgery techniques. Currently, the Toumai™ robot has assisted in over 100 remote clinical surgeries in urology, general surgery, thoracic surgery, gynecology, and pediatric surgery, with a success rate of 100%. It has taken the lead in overcoming the challenges of routine application of tele-surgery worldwide and has validated the stability, technical reliability, and clinical safety of the surgical robot system in diverse climates and natural environments such as plateaus, islands, deserts, and mountainous areas.

The tele-surgical solution developed by MicroPort® MedBot™ demonstrates excellent technical capabilities and has earned unanimous recognition and praise from foreign experts. They expressed that surgical robotics companies like MicroPort® MedBot™, in collaboration with top medical institutions, have achieved great success in exploring tele-surgery, accumulated rich clinical data and experience, and laid the foundation for the promotion of tele-surgical applications. They believe that in the near future, remote surgical technology will be able to deploy surgical rescue forces to any region needed by humans, benefiting patients worldwide.
