Toumai® Completes 2,000 Clinical Surgeries, Accelerating The Clinical Application of Domestically Produced Surgical Robots

As of March 17, 2024, Toumai® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot (referred to as Toumai® Robot) has surpassed 2,000 human clinical surgeries in urology, general surgery, thoracic surgery, gynecology, and pediatric surgery in nearly 90 hospitals both domestically and internationally!

 

Among the 2,000 human clinical surgeries, the Toumai® Robot has successfully completed over 1,600 Level 4 high-difficulty surgeries, covering nearly 300 applicable procedures and achieving nearly 50 "domestic firsts"; it has conducted over 120 exploratory 5G remote surgeries with a 100% success rate, creating nearly 20 world-first or first-time records. The furthest distance for master-slave control reached nearly 13,000 kilometers, assisting experts domestically and internationally in conducting scientific research. In early January this year, the Toumai® Robot completed the first 100 cases of 5G remote surgery globally. The Toumai® Robot successfully assisted in the world's first "global" ultra-long-distance simulated surgery verification and animal experiments, breaking the record for the furthest distance for master-slave control three times. This marks the Minimally Invasive® Robot leading a new breakthrough in Chinese remote surgery, overcoming the challenges of routine global remote surgery applications, and providing better solutions for global medical surgeries.
