On July 29th, 2022, Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (“MicroPort® MedBot®”) was named one of the 50 Smartest Companies in 2021 by MIT Technology Review (“MIT TR50”). Mr. Liuyu, the Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer of MicroPort® MedBot®, was invited to the EmTech China Global Emerging Technology Summit and 50 Smart Companies Launch Ceremony. As the first surgical robot company selected into TR50 in China, MicroPort® MedBot® provides comprehensive intelligent surgical solutions to prolong and reshape the lives of patients. The named companies feature outstanding strength in emerging technologies. According to MIT Technology Review, emerging technologies mean science and technologies that have the potential to achieve commercialization within 3 to 5 years. The influence of emerging technologies development will transcend geographic boarders, and brings about different changes depending on the condition and environment of different regions, markets and industries, which will then quickly spread to the rest of the world.

Now, the current business covers five “Gold Races” of surgery robots, including laparoscopic, orthopaedic, trans-natural orifice and percutaneous surgical solutions. Featuring the only force displaying function in the world, it has solved the technology bottleneck of operation force displaying that has bothered the laparoscopic surgical robot field for decades. So far, three flagship products, namely, DFVision® 3D Electronic Laparoscope, Toumai® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot and Honghu Orthopedic Surgery Robot have all been approved for marketing.”

 

Recently, MedBot®Toumai® has completed the world's longest-range 5G tele-robotic surgery, proving the breakthrough and leading position of our country in ultra-long-range 5G robotic surgeries.

“Toumai® minimizes the delay of images and control through breakthroughs in core technologies such as 5G remote control, simultaneous transmission of high capacity images, and enables real-time monitoring and early warning of network communication quality to ensure safe and smooth completion of the 5G robotic surgery over a distance of 5,000 km. In June 2022, three ultra-long-range 5G robotic surgeries in urology through 5G connection between Xinjiang Kezhou People's Hospital and Jiangsu Province People's Hospital were completed. These three surgeries were nearly 5,000 km apart, making them the longest 5G remote robotic surgeries in the world to date.”
