MicroPort® MedBot® Responses the China Association of Medical Equipment and Establish the Medical Robot Practice Training Base

July 29, 2022, Shanghai, China – Shanghai MicroPort MedBot® (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “MicroPort® MedBot®”), took the initiative in applying to become a “Medical Robot Practice Training Base” (hereinafter referred to as the “training base”) in accordance with the document of the China Association of Medical Equipment (hereinafter referred to as the “association”). After submitting the relevant materials, the association’s education and training department organized experts to carefully review them. Finally, the training base successfully passed the field review and acceptance in full compliance with the relevant provisions. The project of establishing the “medical equipment practice training base” aims to enhance the competency of staff in medical equipment application, management and engineering technology as well as strengthen the relevant personnel’s hands-on operational ability.

 

Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the review adopted a combination of online and offline modes. Hou Yan, chairman of the China Association of Medical Equipment, Cui Zeshi, vice chairman of the association, and Yang Jianlong, director of the association participated in the online review. Special experts invited for on-site review included Luo Qingquan, executive vice director of the Department of Oncology of Shanghai Chest Hospital, Pan Ruijun, deputy director of the Asset Management Office of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Professor Wang Xiaoying from the Department of Liver Tumor Surgery of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, Liu Xiaojun, director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, and Jiang Shuai, director of the Subspecialty of Bladder Cancer of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University.

 

At the MicroPort MedBot® Practice Training Center, relevant personnel introduced the history of MicroPort® MedBot® and various medical robot products to the expert panel in detail. The expert panel, after listening to the introduction of the training base, reviewed the relevant materials and inspected the training site on the spot, which boasts certified laparoscopic robots and orthopedic robots and theoretical training and operational training courses on these products can be conducted here. In addition to the product training syllabus, user operation manual and troubleshooting manual, the endoscopic robot is also equipped with teaching aids such as body models for training and 3D printed tumor tissues to simulate tumor resection; the orthopedic robot is equipped with teaching aids including an operating table, implants and model prosthesis to simulate knee replacement. The experts conducted trial operations on site and fully experienced the product operation training course, followed by the review and verification of the training records in the past year. After careful consideration, evaluation and scoring, the expert group unanimously agreed that the training base passed the project acceptance.
