Nanchang, China - December 9, 2021: Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (referred to as "MicroPort® MedBot®"), specializing in medical robotics, announced that Professor Taiyuan Li, Director of the Department of General Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, successfully completed a robotic-assisted right hemicolectomy using the Toumai® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot via a central approach. This surgery represents the first successful right hemicolectomy performed in East China using a Chinese-developed robot. It is another significant clinical breakthrough for Toumai® in the field of complex and challenging general surgery, following the successful completion of the first Chinese-developed four-arm robotic-assisted colectomy for colon cancer.
