2022-05-24 GMT+8 AM 11:00

Jinan, China —— The "Second Qilu Orthopedic Summit Forum" sponsored by Shandong Provincial Medical Association, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and Orthopedic Medical Research Center of Shandong University was held online and offline successfully from May 20 to May 22, 2022. Shanghai Microport Medbot (Group) Co., Ltd. (MedBot®), one of the leading medical robot enterprises of China, was present at the Forum. Well-known domestic academicians and experts were warmly invited to participate in the forum online or offline simultaneously, and conduct academic exchanges in the form of master forums and special sub-venues. It is hoped that experts will strengthen the clinical collaboration and exchanges in various regions by sharing and discussing the experience of complex cases and digital intelligent orthopedics technologies, and further promote the medical-industrial  combination and the development of digital technologies.

MedBot® has specially invited Professor Huiwu Li from the Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine to share the "Design Concept and Application Experience of TKA Surgery Robot", Professor Yuankai Zhang from Qilu Hospital of Shandong University to introduce the "Role of Simulated Medical Teaching in the Training of Orthopedic Surgeons", and Professor Yongyuan Guo to teach the "Robot-Assisted TKA Skills” at the digital joint academic section. Other experts delivered wonderful keynote speeches and shared the valuable experience of MicroPort®Honghu Orthopedic Surgical Robot in the clinical application.

MicroPort®Honghu Orthopedic Surgical Robot (hereinafter referred to as "Honghu") is a TKA robot completely and independently developed by MicroPort NaviBot (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. Joint replacement, especially total knee arthroplasty (TKA), is a sophisticated surgical procedure of great difficulty in the field of orthopedics. Honghu, with its advantages of simple operation and short learning curve, can complete the digital, accurate and intelligent joint replacement surgeries. Compatible with the unique medial-pivot TKA system of MicroPort®OthoBot, Honghu can provide a digital and intelligent orthopedic integrated surgical solution and guarantee the accurate and efficient prosthesis implantation, thus improving patients' post-operative satisfaction and quality of life.

Honghu has technical advantages, such as accurate operation, efficient collaboration, safety protection and strong compatibility. Its planning system can help surgeons make personalized implant plans before the procedures on the basis of pre-operative CT scan data and prosthesis model data of patients. During the procedures, it proceeds from the precise positioning of surgical planning, and quickly complete the osteotomy through the registration technology in combination of the independently-developed high dexterity and lightweight robotic arms, thus improving the accuracy and efficiency of operations. Honghu avoids the opening of femoral canal in traditional operations and the intramedullary rod implantation during the procedures, which can reduce the surgical injuries and bleeding, improve the force line after the procedures, minimize related complications, and help patients achieve rapid post-operative recovery.

Mr. Yangbin Chen, General Manager of MicroPort NaviBot (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., said: "Many experts and medical workers in the field of orthopedic surgery robots of China have gathered in this summit forum, and MicroPort®Honghu orthopedic robot has been recognized by experts. All NaviBot® team members feel very proud and confident. Meanwhile, the experts’ experience shared at the summit forum has deeply inspired us. It has a strong guiding significance for the further improvement of Honghu and the future development of NaviBot®. I hope that Honghu will build a platform for more medical workers to learn and communicate, empower innovation with digital technology, better promote the expansion of study and the continuous innovation and development of hard tissue surgery robots, and make surgery easier, safer and less invasive!"

Mr. Yu Liu, executive vice president of MedBot®, said: "We are very proud that the Chinese-developed MedBot® can be unveiled at the conferences and won recognition from so many experts. Thanks to all the experts for the joint witness of the Chinese-developed surgical robots in China, more experts and scholars in the surgical fields can fully understand the technology of robot-assisted minimal invasive surgeries. We look forward to further communication, learning and cooperation with both local and international surgery robot professionals. We will put their ideas and technologies of clinical application into our new generation of MedBot®, and make surgery easier, safer and less invasive!”
