Kezhou of Xinjiang, China --- Toumai^® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot (Toumai^®) independently researched and developed by Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (MicroPort® MedBot®) was successfully settled in the People's Hospital of Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang (Xinjiang Kezhou People's Hospital) and the kick-off ceremony was successfully concluded on 06 January, 2022 with the strong support of Professor Ninghong Song, president of Xinjiang Kezhou People's Hospital, and led by Professor Jie Yang, director of Urology Surgery. The kick-off ceremony was presided over by President Ninghong Song. Dengyun Wu, honorary president of Xinjiang Kezhou People's Hospital, Zhentao Ma, member of the Standing Committee and the Party Committee and the deputy governor of Kezhou, Xiaodong Wang, member of the Standing Committee and the Party Committee and the deputy governor of Kezhou, deputy secretary and deputy commander of the Party Committee of Jiangsu-Kezhou Aid Front Headquarters, Nurkka Nati Amurula, deputy secretary and director of Kezhou Health Commission, Tu Luo, party secretary and vice chairman of Kezhou Federation of Trade Unions, leaders at all levels of the hospital and Xinjiang aid experts were present at the ceremony, and Mr. Yu Liu, Chief Commercial Officer of MicroPort® MedBot®, attended the ceremony through the online platform. Toumai^® is the first Chinese-developed surgical robot settled in Xinjiang. It will help speed up the development of Internet hospital and 5G telemedicine, and bring more accurate, more intelligent and less invasive surgical solutions to the medical staff and patients in the frontier regions of China.

 Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture (Kezhou) is located in the westernmost of China, with a 1,195m-long border line and over 90% mountainous area. Since the Jiangsu-Xinjiang "Mission-Group" Aid Program of Medical Talents was launched in April 2016, Jiangsu Province has dispatched three batches of medical backbone groups from 8 provincial  Class 3 hospitals, totaling over 60 medical talents, to assist Kezhou People's Hospital.  Xiaodong Wang, member of the Standing Committee of Kezhou Party Committee, deputy governor, deputy secretary and deputy commander of the Party Committee of Jiangsu-Kezhou Aid Front Headquarters, said, "The settlement of  Toumai^® in Xinjiang Kezhou People's Hospital will promote the development of medical technology in Xinjiang Kezhou People's Hospital; it is hoped that Kezhou People's Hospital will work closely with MicroPort® MedBot® and bring medical robots into a greater role, contribute to the long-term stability and medical care in Kezhou, and better serve the people of Kezhou.”
