Clinical Trial Kick-off Meeting of Toumai® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot was successfully held in the Fourth Hospital of Harbin Medical University

Harbin, China-November 10, 2021, Toumai® Laparoscopic Surgical Robot (hereinafter referred to as “Toumai®”) independently developed by Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MicroPort® MedBot®") successfully held a clinical trial kick-off meeting in the Fourth Hospital of Harbin Medical University. Professor Xu Wanhai, President of the Fourth Hospital of Harbin Medical University and Professor Guo Song, Secretary of the Party Committee, attended the ceremony. The meeting was moderated by Professor Sun Xinhai, Vice President of Fourth Hospital of Harbin Medical University Songbei Branch. This kick-off meeting in the Fourth Hospital of Harbin Medical University marks another significant progress in the multi-disciplinary and multi-center clinical trial of Toumai®.

 

After the ceremony, the Fourth Hospital of Harbin Medical University held live surgery broadcast and academic lectures to relevant specialists of medical institutions at cities and counties in Heilongjiang Province. President Xu Wanhai operated Toumai® to complete the demonstration of nephrectomy surgery in animal experiment and provided a refreshing learning and communication for the participating physicians through live broadcast technology. Professor Zhao Honghui of Gynecology, Professor Xu Jinzhi of Thoracic Surgery Department, Professor Xu Lishan of Hepatobiliary Surgery Department and Professor Chen Zhixian of Thyroid Surgery Department also gave live broadcast of Toumai® surgery and academic lectures respectively.

 

The successful multi-disciplinary surgery training of Toumai® in the Fourth Hospital of Harbin Medical University marks that Toumai® can be used for pelvic, thoracic, and abdominal surgical procedures.
